Colusa County Supervisor Kim Vann, candidate for Congress in California’s new 3rd district, released the following statement in response to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report that national unemployment has remained unchanged at 8.2 percent:

“This month’s dismal jobs report is further evidence of John Garamendi’s broken promises to the people of California. When the trillion-dollar stimulus was pushed through Congress, Californians were promised that national unemployment would be no higher than 5.6 percent today. Three and half years later, after years of double-digit unemployment and mounting national debt, it’s clear that the solutions John Garamendi advocated for aren’t working. We need common sense solutions that empower small businesses to create jobs—not more of John Garamendi’s failed economic agenda. Californians deserve better, and I’ll fight for the solutions we need.”

Kim Vann is running against Rep. John Garamendi to represent California’s new 3rd district in the U.S. House of Representatives. The new district is made up of all or parts of Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties.
