Fuller Statement on Passage of Pension Reform Legislation

Senator Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) released a statement regarding her vote for AB 340, legislation that will enact several pension reform measures. The bill passed in both the Assembly and Senate, and now heads to the Governor’s desk.

“This plan is a good start. There are some reforms in it that will lead to much needed cost savings, including a cap and ending the abuse of ‘spiking’.

“A lot more work remains before the state’s pension system can become sustainable. We’ve put new tires on a car from the junkyard. It’ll help, but a lot more changes will need to happen before it works properly.”
