A Night Avoiding “Better Off”

In the days leading up to this year’s Democratic National Convention, Obama campaign officials and their allies promised a substantive discussion of important issues.

OFA Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter vowed, “This week will not be about personal attacks or gauzy platitudes or trying to rally our base.”

Chalk that up as yet another broken Obama promise. Democrats did exactly what they promised not to.

RNC Releases New Videos:

Chuck’s Story

The Republican National Committee in conjunction with Romney for President releases “Chuck’s Story,” about a man who fell on hard times and got back on his feet through welfare to work. Like many Americans, Chuck is concerned that by gutting welfare reform, President Obama has made things worse for those that have fallen on hard times.

These Hands: North Carolina

The Republican National Committee in conjunction with Romney for President releases “These Hands: North Carolina” telling the story of how small business owner Melanie McNamara who voted for Barack Obama in 2008, is disappointed with his leadership the last four years, and won’t be supporting him this fall. Like many Americans who got swept up in ‘Hope and Change,’ she is realizing that President Obama cannot get the job done and knows that we must change direction.

The Republican National Committee releases “Incomplete” drawing a sharp contrast between President Obama’s promise that it would be a one-term proposition if he couldn’t turn things around and his current position that his job is ‘incomplete.’ The American people deserve a leader who will be held accountable for their actions, not one that keeps moving the goalposts.

Democrats Aren’t Working: They Think More Government Is the Answer

  • The Economy Is Still Struggling Four Years After Democrats Took Charge, But the Democrats’ Answer Is Still More Big Government
  • Democrats began their national convention by watching a video that included the disturbing claim that “government is the only thing we all belong to,” yet another reminder that Democrats believe more government is the answer.
  • The Democrats’ big government record of the last four years shows that their approach has left Americans worse off.

After four years of failure, Democrats still won’t abandon their big government policies and are actually proposing more of the same, even if it means more economic suffering for working families.
