The reviews are in and the unanimous consensus is that Mitt Romney trounced Barack Obama in the debates.  There’s no doubt that Romney was going to come prepared for a fight.  What shocked me about last night’s debate was how badly Obama performed.  We all know that Obama has no real answer for his dismal performance on the economy, however you’d think he would have been more effective in delivering the typical DNC talking points.  What you’ll find when reading the articles below is the overwhelming conclusion that Obama was completely out of his league last night.  After last night’s decisive win by Romney, it is clearer now that Obama hasn’t the ability, the ideas or the leadership skills to move this country forward.  Republicans must redouble their efforts to get Mitt Romney elected in November.

Below are just a sample of articles from a wide variety of news outlets analyzing last night’s debate.

Presidential race reset, Romney backers say

Dogged by criticism from his party and by flagging poll numbers in key swing states, Romney pulled off a clear victory in the first debate Wednesday night, according to several polls, besting President Obama by a wide margin.

Romney energizes campaign with feisty debate performance

Mitt Romney energized his campaign for president Wednesday night, charging out of his first debate having, by most accounts from both sides of the political spectrum, dominated President Obama in a standoff for which he was evidently well-prepared. (more…)

From Ricky Gill for Congress:

We all know that Jerry McNerney lied to voters about his residence.

Apparently unsatisfied, McNerney is now lying about Ricky’s.

In a fact-check article published today, the Stockton Record thoroughly examines the claims McNerney makes in his campaign advertising. McNerney is running TV ads — and the Democratic Party is sending mailers on his behalf — making absurd claims, including the unfounded allegation that Ricky still lives with his parents. (more…)

While voters’ attention is being diverted to the three major statewide tax increase measures on the November ballot, Propositions 30, 38 and 39, many taxpayers are about to be hit below the belt by local politicians, who are just as anxious to get their hands on more cash as are their Sacramento brethren.

Michael Coleman, the creator of CaliforniaCityFinance.com, has tallied the number of local tax hike measures that will appear on the November 6 ballot. Voters will decide on 237 tax increases or extensions including 106 school bonds with a face value of $11.7 billion — about half of the eventual cost after interest is paid. Additionally, there are 25 measures to increase or extend school parcel taxes, property taxes that are placed on parcels of property without regard to the parcel’s value. Then there are another 106 non-school related revenue measures that include 23 parcel taxes, 35 sales tax increases or extensions, and 42 special taxes — those earmarked for a specific purpose. SACRAMENTO: Oct. 1, 2012 marks the one-year anniversary of Assembly Bill (AB) 109’s implementation, the Democrats’ early-release program for prison inmates. Dubbed as the “Criminal Justice Realignment” plan and billed as a “safe and secure” program to reduce our state prison population, AB 109 has proven to be anything but.

Up and down the state, the release of “non-violent, low-risk” inmates has been marked by dozens of reports that newly released inmates have carried out rapeattempted murderkidnappingrobberies, and stabbings. Inmates have also attacked police officers and stalked playgrounds. All of these offenses have been committed by inmates who were given early release under the auspices of “realignment.” (more…)

From Elizabeth Emken for U.S. Senate:

Let’s look at an opportunity for California’s U.S. Senate candidates to have an open public discussion on the issues affecting our state and our nation:

Feinstein Sees `No Evidence’ Deadly Libya Attack Planned

SHOT: The White House announced today that there is now clear evidence that the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th were premeditated and orchestrated by Al Qaeda. The facts contradict the statement on the attacks made by Dianne Feinstein on September 13th that reversed her original position: (more…)

Another California Business Leaves Our State – 700 Families Will Be Impacted

SACRAMENTO, CA – Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) issued the following statement regarding the announcement that Campbell’s Soup will be moving its operations to North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas to reduce costs, putting 700 individuals on the unemployment line:

“No one should be surprised that Campbell’s Soup has decided to move their operations out of California. In the past few years, numerous other companies have done the same. Our communities need broad-based reforms, and Californians deserve more than promises and empty talk about helping our struggling families find work. (more…)
