Another Dismal Jobs Report Shows Obama’s Policies Haven’t Worked For America

The Associated Press Headline: “60-Day Election Sprint Opens With Weak Jobs Report”(Julie Pace and Donna Cassata, “60-Day Election Sprint With Weak Jobs Report,” The Associated Press , 9/7/12)

  • The Associated Press “U.S. employers added 96,000 jobs last month, a weak figure that could slow any momentum President Barack Obama hoped to gain from his speech to the Democratic National Convention.” (Christopher S Rugaber, “US Economy Adds 96k Jobs, Rate Falls To 8.1 Pct.,” The Associated Press, 9/7/12)

Dysfunctional National Committee

  • The DNC Is Plagued By Money Troubles And Obama’s Worst Surrogate
  • JUST A FEW WEEKS OUT FROM ITS CONVENTION, THE DNC’S FUNDRAISING OPERATION IS IN DIRE STRAITS

In July, The DNC Raised About $10 Million, While Spending $32 Million, Leaving It With Just $15.4 Million Cash On Hand. “Early reports showed the Democratic National Committee spent about $14 million in coordinated advertising with Obama. That’s as the DNC raised roughly $10 million in July while also spending $32 million, leaving the party with about $15.4 million in the bank by month’s end.” (Jack Gillum, “Obama, DNC Spending Exceeded Donations In July,” The Associated Press, 8/20/12) (more…)

Team Obama Spends Sunday On Defense

Fox’s Chris Wallace: “That is the argument that the Obama campaign makes – that the $716 billion is all in cuts to providers and insurance companies and it will have no effect on benefits or services to the beneficiaries. Let me ask my question. Medicare’s own actuary, own actuary of Medicare – not of the Romney campaign – says that is impossible. That you can’t have the same services for $716 billion less. And let’s put up some of what the Medicare actuary says. They say that 15 percent of Medicare providers will be unprofitable by 2019. 25 percent of Medicare providers will be unprofitable by 2030. New Video: These Aren’t Gaffes

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee releases “These Aren’t Gaffes” to demonstrate President Obama’s lack of commitment and understanding of the poor economic conditions. Just last week, it was revealed that President Obama’s Jobs Council has not met in 6 months, yet he found enough time for 111 fundraisers and 10 golf outings. This is on top of his latest comment that job creators didn’t build their business– “somebody else made that happen.” The more these happen, the more obvious it becomes that these aren’t gaffes, this is what President Obama believes. AMERICAN TAXPAYER DOLLARS CREATED STIMULUS AND JOBS…ABROAD

Nearly Half Of Obama’s $2.4 Billion Devoted To Advanced Vehicle Batteries Went To Foreign Companies. “Nearly half of the $2.4 billion in federal grant money awarded Wednesday to stimulate the U.S. economy and boost the production of hybrid and electric vehicles went to six companies with ties to places as far away as Russia, China, South Korea and France. … But because so few American companies have the necessary technology, much of the money will initially go toward manufacturing electric vehicle batteries overseas.”  (Jerry Seper, “Obama Sends Stimulus Aid To Foreign Firms,” The Washington Times, 8/6/09) (more…)

President’s reliance on government solutions is constraining economy

President Obama’s claim that “the private sector is doing fine” is sure to be repeated over and over and over again the next few months. And the White House will continue to argue that the president’s comments were taken out of context. That’s missing the point. The context is the problem. The administration’s and Congress‘ misplaced faith in the power of government to solve problems and stimulate the economy is what is holding back our recovery.
